I’m starting to feel some warm fronts coming to Maryland. Today we have some temperatures in the high 60’s and tomorrow they are calling for temps in the mid 70’s! Woop Woop!!! While we’re in the home stretch of this winter (Where are you Spring!?) I wanted to take you guys back to when it was a colorful Maryland Fall. I had quite a few fall maternity sessions last year, they were so full of color. The Villasenor’s Fall Maternity Session was gorgeous too! I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a very nice couple. The Garita’s were expecting the arrival of their little princess when we met for their maternity session. We went to one of my favorite places to do Maryland maternity photography sessions. It’s this little park tucked back into a neighborhood where there is a pier, a beach and even a tire swing. It’s the perfect place for a magical portrait session. Since I’m based out of Annapolis, MD I have the advantage of being by lots (and lots) of water. We have lakes and rivers and a bay right around the corner. I love mixing the calmness of waterfront with the magic of pregnancy. It’s a perfect match!
Of course, it doesn’t hurt when you also have a DROP DEAD GORGEOUS client. I mean, c’mon. This girl was stunning. I almost felt like I should been paying her to take her photos!
Do you see what I mean about mixing pregnancy with waterfront!? So dreamy!
Then after a few weeks the princess arrived. The Garita’s contacted me to let me know she was here and I made sure to get her on the schedule ASAP.
The day came for my newborn photography session with this wonderful family. I had the best time setting up little props for this girl. I wanted to use pink, tan, grey and more neutral tones.
For the first set up I chose to lay her on some pink wool fluff that was layered with a pink and white curly wool blanket. Didn’t she look precious with her little bow and wrapped up tight?
Typically you would pull out the baby blue flokati for boy newborns but this day I was feeling playful. I wanted to find a way to use baby blue with this sweet girl and I think I nailed it here. Take a look at more Annapolis Newborn photography where I used this same flokati.
I was told by mom and dad that they preferred more natural tones for their Maryland newborn photography. So I grabbed some tan and grey props and layed the sweet newborn baby girl in a wooden bucket. She even cracked the tiniest little smile 🙂
I’m thrilled with how the photos came out for the Garita’s maternity photography session and for their newborn photography session.
What did you think? Did you love reading all about the Garita’s journey to parenthood? I can’t wait to photograph this fam again 🙂
Would you do me a favor? Would you consider leaving me a comment below with any thoughts or just to say “Hello?” I would greatly appreciate it and love you forever!
