I’ve been seeing this Hobby Lobby Challenge floating around the internet lately. Apparently a photographer created it when she needed a creative outlet in the winter months when all the beautiful colors outside are gone. She took her camera into a Hobby Lobby store and worked with what they had there. The photos turned out amazing and it has started a craze in the photography world! Everyone has been putting their skills to the test to see what they can create in their local store.
Since I’m a Maryland family photographer and we haven’t quite hit spring yet I was very interested in getting some color in my life. I quickly jumped on the bandwagon! The challenge is to make the most beautiful portraits you can using only what Hobby Lobby has set up in their store. So, I grabbed my extremely photogenic teenage step-daughter (who happens to be an aspiring model) slapped some eyeliner on her and ran to my nearest Hobby Lobby.
Oh my gosh, let me just tell you we had the best time. If you are considering doing this challenge please do it. You’ll be cracking up laughing the whole time. Do me one more, send me your photos from your #hobbylobbychallenge !!! You can email them to email@example.com. I want to see what you get!
Here’s some of the gorgeous portraits I got of my Bella.
Okay, now the fun part. Here’s the behind the scenes shots:
I loved how this challenge forces you to think outside the box. You have to rely on your skills! I would definitely recommend all my photographer friends to try this out. But be prepared to get creative and you can’t be embarrassed either. LOL! Because people tend to stare at you when you try to do a photo shoot at Hobby Lobby ; )
What did you think of our results? Would you dare to do a photo shoot at your local Hobby Lobby??? This Maryland family photographer is glad she did!
